I would like to take a moment to clarify the difference between the meaning of the words stationery and stationary.  I am ALWAYS surprised when people in the "print world" do not know the correct spelling.  I see it everyday with retailers around the country.  I figured since people in the"biz" do not seem to know the difference then I am certain that most other people that do not sell paper for a living do not know the proper spelling (and why would they?).  I am always looking to learn, I hope you are as well and that you find this to be a Party Cat "fun fact"!  Another "fun fact" on the same subject; you will sometimes see both spellings from retailers/e-tailers on Google, this is for search engine optimization, allowing you (the consumer) to spell it either way and still find what you are looking for.
Maybe this post will push you to go buy some beautiful new stationery (on sale at Party Cat) to write those long overdue thank you notes!

I feel like I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't yell from the roof top one of my favorite things. Anyone that knows me knows I like a good glass of red wine once in a while (ok, fine, a few times a week). I don't always finish the open bottle and I used to just reuse the cork from the bottle.  Not any more. I have discovered (and sell at Party Cat) these FABULOUS acrylic wine stoppers. Polar Vortex

POLAR VOTEX!?  Are you kidding me?  I live in Austin, Texas.  It should not (EVER) be 12 degrees in the morning.  To make it even worse (yes, it got worse for me) I was leaving the house at 4:30 a.m. to workout.  Now, people give me a hard time for working out at such an early hour (or late if you are a 20 something).  But, I really don't mind getting out of my warm, comfortable bed at such a crazy hour.  I have the best trainer in the world (www,marlowsfitness.com) and work out with an amazing group of women.  Because of of all of this, 4:30 a.m. is a time I look forward to.... except yesterday and today.  It is just TOO COLD!  In order to brave the cold I wore warm workout clothing (monogrammed, of course).  Here are some pictures of items that are similar to what I wore (mine are in the wash as I was too sweaty after the workout to try to take pictures).  Everyone needs a little personalization in their life!  Come see us at Party Cat or www.partycat.com to get your personalization on.  Stay warm and monogram on!

We are back and ready to talk about all things personalized.  Over the past couple of years we have made a few changes.... some good and some not so good.  We needed spend some time internally to figure the best way to manage all of the changes and we are ready to get a fresh start in 2014.  We hope you will follow along with us as in the year ahead.  We are SUPER EXCITED to share our journey as we navigate the days, weeks, months and years ahead!

Ok, let's get started...

2014 or 1985???  If you are close to my age (late 40's) you have probably looked around over the past few months and thought to yourself "something seems oddly familiar around here".  RIGHT?!  I swear it is 1985 again.  My entire staff looks at me like I am crazy ('cray cray' to the 20 something crowd) when I say this, however IT REALLY IS EXACTLY LIKE BEING BACK IN THE LATE 80's.  The pinks, greens, blues and of course the monograms.  Oh, the monograms.  I LOVE it!  We joke around the office (I joke; they all just glare at me) about how we have the ability to personalize any surface at Party Cat.  The only thing we can't do at Party Cat  is tattoo a person (insert the glare I was talking about).  Ok, so we will NEVER have a tattoo machine however we do run many other machines all day everyday.  At the store front in Austin, Texas we run an embroidery machine, engraving machine, vinyl cutter and heat press.  I told you we could personalize any surface!  It is so much fun.  Can you tell that I love my job?  Whether you purchase the perfect gift at Party Cat or you bring in your own treasure we are happy to personalize it with a monogram, name, logo, design... your imagination is the only limit.

NALP Conference

Party Cat is having a great time working the NALP (National Association for Legal Professionals) conference! We started 21 years ago working with law firms, providing invitations for recruiting events. After 15 years, Party Cat still offers the same wonderful invitations and stationery. However, new at the conference this year, we are introducing personalized gifts which are great for new recruits, colleagues, etc! The hot idea (thanks to a clever attendee) was to personalize an iPhone or blackberry case with a firm's logo and colors! What a great way to brand!

Bat Girl

A few weeks ago, a customer came into the store and said her soon to be 5 year old daughter wanted to have a "batgirl" party. She had been searching online for invitations, however she just kept coming up with "Batman" theme...no "girly" colors anywhere. I told her I would be happy to create something for her. When I sent her the design, she then wanted to know about plates and napkins (of course we can do that!). Then, she thought it would be fun to have something personalized as a favor. We thought a great gift for the kids would be personalized water bottles. Each child received a metal water bottle with a vinyl bat sticker with their name in the middle of the bat. The theme all came together. The customer got exactly what she wanted and the kids all got fabulous personalized gifts to go home with them!
